Montserrat and Sitges
Visit the Montserrat mountain and monastery and be stunned by one of the most beautiful villages on the Catalan coastline: Sitges!
INFORMATION
This itinerary expands on the excursion to Montserrat. Having visited the monastery and mountain, we move on to Sitges, one of the most beautiful villages on the Catalan coastline. With its narrow lanes bustling with life, the houses of the Catalan “Indians” who went to seek their fortune in America in the 19th century, and the point of the promontory where medieval Sitges is witnessed by the ruins of its ancient walls. On the point of the promontory we contemplate the Church of Saint Tecla, and one of the most magical corners of Catalonia, “El Racó de la Calma” (the corner of calmness) where the Maricel building and museum are found and where stood the house of Santiago Rusiñol, the Catalan painter from the end of the 19th century, an edifice of modernist festivities that have turned Sitges into a centre of important cultural events such as the world-famous Sitges International Fantasy Film Festival.
